OUR VALUES
-
Live each day with courage. Face challenges with determination and strength of character never condoning unethical behavior and making the right choice even though it may be unpopular.
-
Take pride in your work. in the words of Robin Williams in the Dead Poet’s Society, “In that pursuit laziness will not do”
-
Always finish what you start. Small achievements are achievements none the less. When you start a project bring it to completion, anything worth doing is worth doing completely.
-
Do what has to be done. The small tasks are the most overlooked, we don’t want to do them, we don’t know how to do them. Dig deep, find the warrior spirit and power through those less appealing tasks, that is how we define ourselves.
-
Be tough, but fair. Kind and tough can co-exist. It is inappropriate to be unfair, it is not inappropriate to be tough and fair – once you have addressed the immediate issue, move on, don’t dwell, that is how we grow through adversity.
-
When you make a promise, keep it. Our word is our bond, it is as important now as it was when this Country was formed, litigation is not unlike the harsh prairies which formed the places we live and do business today.
-
Talk less and say more. Be deliberate with your language say what needs to be said and leave the flowery stuff out.
-
Remember that some things aren’t for sale. This includes things like your ethics, integrity, and personal values, we do not do unethical things in our practice.
-
Know where to draw the line. This is an expansion of the above, we all must draw lines, be they ethical, personal, values based or a combination of the above. Draw your line and stick to it.
-
Ride for the Brand. This is best summed up by cowboy poet Red Steagall when he said “Son, a man’s brand is his own special mark that says this is mine, leave it alone. You hire out to a man, ride for his brand and protect it like it was your own.” Translated to our purposes, when we "hire on to your brand" we protect it as if it is our very own.
